I spent a lot of time thinking of how how to start this blog post. I considered starting with a long intro, explaining my absence but then I changed my mind. Most of you know the deal, I was in school and I had zero time, zero time at all to do anything not school related (yes, school was that intense for me). I defended my dissertation last month but then I had to breath o! I felt like if did not spend some time doing nothing (aka nothing too intense, blogging and filming can get intense, believe me) I would just break down. I'm well rested now so back to business, hehe. In this blog post, I'll be talking about one product that I find myself never paying for, Clinique just seems to love me like that, lol.
I recently realized that for the past four years, I've always had a bottle of Clinique take the day off makeup remover. The funny thing is that I can't remember ever walking into a store to actually buy the stuff during this period. I keep running out and by some stroke of luck, I keep acquiring it again in the form of samples. If you are a regular Clinique customer, you would know that they are one of the few brands that really give out samples, irrespective of what a customer looks like.
The Clinique take the day off makeup remover is a liquid eye and lip makeup remover, one of those types that work best with a cotton pad. It has a two way formula, similar to that of the Mary Kay oil-free makeup remover and the Neutrogena oil-free makeup remover. The formula normally has an obvious demarcation showing where two different substances are separated. However compared to the other two makeup removers that I mentioned, the Clinique makeup remover does not leave any oily residue. To use this product, all you have to do is shake it thoroughly, the shaking effectively mixes the substances in the liquid, making it ready to use. I normally use a flat cotton pad when using this product and believe me, it effectively takes off the most waterproof of eyeliners, and long lasting lip colors too. It is fragrance free like most Clinique product and comes with one of those press down and twist bottle caps that make a bottle spill proof. Like I mentioned previously, I've never really purchased this with my money, I always receive it as a sample when I go to buy other things from the Clinique counter but they are pricey! I have the 125ml bottle and it normally retails for £17 pounds here in the UK. For the price you pay for a bottle, I wish that it could at least be used to take off face makeup as well, not just eye and lip makeup. However, it does what it claims to do really well!
